Vishal Rana is partner of portfolio and operations at Deciens Capital, where he is focused on helping portfolio companies with their ongoing growth and general fund operations.

Vishal started his professional career in financial services – as an insurance broker, a credit analyst, in equity research, and as a structuring and placement agent for structured credit, weather, and energy derivatives. In his second chapter, he helped scale technology companies from Series B to exit – so he knows what it takes to build an enduring organization. Vishal held a variety of executive roles spanning operations, customer success, revenue, and product at Medallia (IPO'ed 2019), Segment.io (acquired by TWLO), and Snapdocs (Series D). He joined Deciens in 2022, building on his dual-experience in financial services and technology.

Vishal received an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a BS from the Stern School of Business at NYU (both with honors). He also served as a staff sergeant in the US Air Force Reserve.

Vishal lives in Sonoma County with his wife, son, and dog. He loves cooking, home improvement projects, and 90s alternative rock.
